So today I got lost on my way to OHOP. The Original House of Pancakes is not nearly as good as IHOP. Also, I used a quarter of a tank of gas and almost ended up in Grapevine, Texas. Then my Health Science 3 class all went to the mall for like an hour and a half. I genuinely tried to buy something, but I am terrible at spending my money. I just don't like parting with my cold hard cash. I have one more blog of my high school career left. This is crazy.

The most important aspect of friendship is loyalty. So many many people these days are only friends to your face, or when it comes down to helping you out, they back out. There are too many fair weather friends. I'm not interested in that. Loyalty is what makes a friendship persevere.

I feel like this is a question that can't be answered with a simple yes or no. Yes, the media is highly intrusive in people's lives but some of those people have to realize what it means to be a public figure (see: Politicians). When one is a political figure they have to accept that their lives are going to pried into because they must be analyzed. People need to know who is running their towns, cities, states, and countries. So to some degree it is important that the media is so intrusive. When it comes to celebrities, it doesn't seem quite so fair. They aren't doing anything that says I should see how they live their lives. They're just writing music or acting in movies, they aren't in positions of extreme power. As members of the media we have a responsibility to report on things that are actually newsworthy. It shouldn't matter where Brad and Angelina took a vacation, but rather how our political candidates match up their ethical claims with their lifestyles.

It frustrates me how under appreciated we are most of the time. I'm not saying we need to be worshipped for our televised prowess, but not being jerks about all of our work would be nice.

The purpose of space exploration is the understanding of the universe. Science is the poetry of reality. It is so very very important to understand how small of a speck we are in relation to the entirety of the universe. I'll include a picture that will better explain just how numerous the vast number of other galaxies are and how far the universe stretches around us. In this image alone, taken by Hubble, there are around 10,000 or more galaxies.

I wish I was in London or Canada right now. It isn't that I particularly like either of those places but they both have two boys that I am IN LOVE with. I became friends with this dude from Canada, his name is Joshua, and if he wasn't in Canada I would date him like nobody's business. He is awesome and so freaking hilarious. In London, we have a filmmaker and musician by the name of Alex Day. He is also amazing and funny. He is internet famous though so my chances with him are significantly lowered. However, I will be internet famous some day or famous-famous because of my strong personality, and we will meet and fall in love. Unless I marry Joshua first. Is there such a thing as reverse polygamy? Like, a woman with multiple husbands???

The greatest advantage of cellphones, like most media devices, is their ability to provide instant communication. When you think about it, the cellphone stole many of its features from computers and radio. Really it isn't cellphones that people love, it is this transformer hybrid creature that has the functionality of a computer, the capability of an mp3 player, the fun of a game station, and the ability to make calls. On another note, DO NOT CUT PLANNED PARENTHOOD! IT WILL BE A STEP BACK IN WOMEN'S RIGHTS!

Slang becomes popular mostly due to the youth of America. When teenagers and kids come up with a saying or phrase, it spreads like wildfire. They are usually words that are supposed to phrase the same ideas. Like saying "Grody" for gross or saying that something is "Rank". These are kind of older phrases, but I really think YOLO is kind of stupid. I don't think I really use very many slang terms.

So today I went to telemetry for my hospital duties. I literally did nothing. No, I mean that. I sat in a chair and stared at a screen for two hours. TWO HOURS. Actually, I nodded off a few times, but going there was such a waste of my time. We looked at QRS complexes and whatnot, but it was the same stuff we look at in class anyways.

LAME. LAME. LAME. I can't deny that I was half hoping for a ventricular tachycardia or an agonal rhythm to spice up my time.

Dear Rayne's armpit,

I know you are itchy and nasty, but it will be okay. Relief can come in many forms. You might try investing in some Dove deodorant or perhaps an anti-perspirant? There are some over-the-counter anti-perspirants that work exceedingly well. You might try Certain-Dri. It works great for keeping you from sweating in your pits for up to 72 hours after one nightly use. It can be pretty painful if you put too much on though. Be careful. Have caution.

I hope your itchy-ness gets better.

NBC5 did a very good job of covering the tornado. They provided many stats and figures about the length of time the tornado in Lancaster was on the ground (3o minutes), and the amount of damage. According to NBC5, 135 structures were damaged. Along the side of these numbers, they provided a human interest aspect via interviews with a church members that had their church destroyed, and a few regular civilian's tales of how they tried to hide. I did notice though that a few of the interviews were NOT RULE OF THIRDS.

It wasn't poorly put together overall.

Most of the time I just want curl up in a ball and lay in my bed all day, but some how I end up at school, getting crap done. Right now, I would describe myself as angry. I have been very angry with the world these past few days. Today is my dad's surgery, and on top of all of that I am going to be stuck at Collin Community College next year. It isn't right and it isn't fair. Anger is the word of my day. I have just been very angry at everyone and everything for: Existing, not understanding all the crap I have to do, existing, not letting me have five minutes alone, existing, not letting me have time to sleep, existing, and for EXISTING.

I have made myself proud by learning to accept and have a positive outlook on bad situations. I didn't receive the financial aide I thought I would from Texas State, and at the moment it does not look like I can afford to go. This has made my week not so fun. Also, my dad is going into surgery on the 2nd to have his rectum removed. This is a major surgery and he is nervous about it, but if all goes well, this might actually improve his quality of life in the end. He will no longer have that infected part inside of him causing him pain so that means he could stop being in pain all the time. Also, we have been working on getting him put on permanent disability because his doctor has said that he cannot work anymore, his body just can't do it. So maybe things suck right now and maybe things look tough, but they will get better because my dad can get healthier, and I can transfer from Collin College. Plus, my dad being on disability will make my FAFSA look even better come next year. Things can only get better after they've gotten so bad.

I would title it this because just as being a person of faith is big part of lives of other people in this school, being without religion is an important part of my life. My book would be filled with my journey to getting this point, the stories of my life with my parents and siblings, and then the discussions of being a female in a political climate that seeks to control my sexual activity, body, and healthcare.

So yeah. I want to find my people and be with them. It can be really uncomfortable living in the Bible Belt, where being an atheist is akin to be as awful as a terrorist.

Technically speaking, the biggest impact on America has been the Romans. You see, one could argue about the people discovering the nation as being the greatest impacters, but this is not the case. Simply discovering something does not actually impact or influence it. You see, while the Portuguese are credited with discovering the Americas, but it is the end result of what the nation became this is most important to turn one's attention to. The Roman Republic was the model for the final system of government in the United States, and it is also a model of governance for the Mexican government. The Romans founded the idea of sovereignty and giving more than just one all powerful individual supreme control over the way an entire nation of different background works. They are truly the founders of the United States and America.

The federal government could be most easily compared to a diaper. It needs to be changed often, and usually for the same reason: It gets pretty crappy. The problem is that people hold party loyalty rather than office loyalty. When you are given a government position, you do not do what your party tell you to do. You are to do as the constitution tells you to. If something follows the constitution and the people are for it, you get it passed. If something follows the constitution and the people are against it, you don't pass it. If something does not follow the constitution and the people are against it, don't pass it. Most importantly though, if something does not follow the constitution, despite however many people are for it, DO NOT PASS IT.

The spirit of the law is above the letter of the law, but we do not simply disregard the letter of the law.

Of all the things for people to fear in this world, like being in horrible accidents and getting severely injured with possible death, I am less afraid of those things than wasting my life. I have spent so much time around the dying, the sick and the injured, that the thought of having severe bodily damage occur to me is far less of a threat since before. However, if I could never live my life the way I want, and achieve my goals then that would be the most horrible terrifying thing that could happen to me.

Well from a legal and ethical aspect, yes. The state does have the power to regulate how we drive our vehicles because they travel on roads and highways, which are owned by the government. Also, the government is endowed with the moral obligation to do what is best for the people, which in this case would be to protect lives. Does this mean I want them to regulate texting and driving? Ha, no. I love texting at stoplights. Call me reckless, but I have the attention span of a teenager. Oh wait...

I need to improve on my ability to know when enough is enough. I had a nervous breakdown on Wednesday and I felt erratic and anxious since then. I haven't slept more than 7 hours in last two days, and I was nearly late for school this morning because I woke up late. I have written 4 essays in the last two days at 3am. Are there biases in the media? Are there fish in the ocean? Of course! You cannot turn on the news without finding some sort of bias. The BEST example for biases in the media is naturally FOX News. Have you ever heard of a new station covering stories about itself? Well FOX News does. They get upset when people criticize their biased practices and then do stories about themselves being criticized. It is ridiculous! They also try to talk about the "mainstream media" as though they are not part of that media. I call bull. They make up a large, and rather sickeningly sad, part of the "mainstream media".
