Journal 3/29/12
I have made myself proud by learning to accept and have a positive outlook on bad situations. I didn't receive the financial aide I thought I would from Texas State, and at the moment it does not look like I can afford to go. This has made my week not so fun. Also, my dad is going into surgery on the 2nd to have his rectum removed. This is a major surgery and he is nervous about it, but if all goes well, this might actually improve his quality of life in the end. He will no longer have that infected part inside of him causing him pain so that means he could stop being in pain all the time. Also, we have been working on getting him put on permanent disability because his doctor has said that he cannot work anymore, his body just can't do it. So maybe things suck right now and maybe things look tough, but they will get better because my dad can get healthier, and I can transfer from Collin College. Plus, my dad being on disability will make my FAFSA look even better come next year. Things can only get better after they've gotten so bad.

Journal 3/23/12
So I'm really tired and hungry. I want to go home and eat and sleep. Tonight I'm going to, you guessed it, The Hunger Games. Sleep hasn't been my friend lately. I just need a good long day to lay down and sleep. I'm so so so tired.
My dad goes into surgery on the 2nd. Then he'll be in the hospital for a while afterwards.

NOHTHING. I'm tired and people suck. Work is busy and customers have constant problems, school is busy and I am constantly playing catch up, and my house is busy because my dad is going back into the hospital on the 2nd.
The best thing in my life right now is my mom. She rocks cause she works so much more than the rest of the family.

The title of the book about my life would be "Revelations: A Story of Atheism and the Reflections of a 2012 Teen". I would title it this because just as being a person of faith is big part of lives of other people in this school, being without religion is an important part of my life. My book would be filled with my journey to getting this point, the stories of my life with my parents and siblings, and then the discussions of being a female in a political climate that seeks to control my sexual activity, body, and healthcare.

If I could go anywhere over spring break, I would go to the United Kingdom. So many great secular humanists come from the UK and the numbers of atheists there are growing by large margins every year. I could even potentially see Richard Dawkins! I would also have the opportunity to meet Alex Day or Charlie Mcdonnell. It would be the VERY BEST spring break ever.
So yeah. I want to find my people and be with them. It can be really uncomfortable living in the Bible Belt, where being an atheist is akin to be as awful as a terrorist.

Technically speaking, the biggest impact on America has been the Romans. You see, one could argue about the people discovering the nation as being the greatest impacters, but this is not the case. Simply discovering something does not actually impact or influence it. You see, while the Portuguese are credited with discovering the Americas, but it is the end result of what the nation became this is most important to turn one's attention to. The Roman Republic was the model for the final system of government in the United States, and it is also a model of governance for the Mexican government. The Romans founded the idea of sovereignty and giving more than just one all powerful individual supreme control over the way an entire nation of different background works. They are truly the founders of the United States and America.

This week sucked, other than downloading LIMBO. That creepy little game has been my joy this week. When I'm stressed out, I play LIMBO. When I'm doing too much at once and need to stop to breathe, I take a LIMBO break. It is wonderful. It's also really enthralling. I love it. Other than that, everything has just been very hard this week. I am looking forward to babysitting tonight and relaxing a little bit.
Life is tough.
