Journal Entry 9/25/09

So I've had a hectic week. I spent ALL week being exhausted and not getting a chance to go running between all of my homework and making room to sleep. I also had to do an awful AP World History timed compare and contrast essay over The Rise And Fall of Acient Rome and Han China. It was some scary stuff. I literally finished when my teacher, Mr. Crowe, called "time".
I also had to write my affirmative case for debate, and that took tons of research and hours of sleep. I think debate knocks time off of your lifespan.

I'm exhausted but I can't wait to get home on this friday night to go running :)

My favorite holiday is HALLOWEEN!!!
Halloween is the most rockin' holiday, like, ever. You can be so many awesome things for halloween and dress as funky you want. Halloween is also the holiday that lets me do the most with my makeup adventures. I can look downright out of this world and people will think it's just awesome. I love Halloween ;))))

My dream job is working as a makeup artist. I would freaking love to do the special effects makeup in movies and the crazy insane makeup that one would see on the runway. Makeup to me is art, and it's the best kind of art because you can wear it everywhere. Everyone who sees me will see my art because makeup is just that convenient and awesome.

I LOVE MAKEUP!

Parents should give their parents enough freedom to make their own mistakes. Often times, parents are too strict on their sheltering of their children so much that their children develop no real understandings for the world because they lack experiences. Its not right for children to have no chances to become their own person and learn from their own actions. When people see, feel, and experience they understand. When people don't do these things, they can't understand.

If I could take an all expense paid trip around the world, my parents would probably make me take them...against my will.
If I could choose who I get to take then I would take my sister and my best friend Lauren. We would have a freaking blast going all over the world. I could just imagine the crazy mischief and the crazy shopping we would get into. However, since this is my sister and me we're talking about, we would totally nerd out at all the historical places. Yeah ;)

Journal Entry 9/11/09

On September 11th, 2001...

I was in second grade and things were weird. Classes did not technically stop, but regular functions in them did. I remember the teachers let us spend most the day at "stations" (those were freaking funnn!) while they were hooked to each other's computers. When the day finally ended and my sister came and got me from school, I was finally told what had happened. I was too young to comprehend the severity of the situation. To be honest, I was able to shrug it off.

Looking back I wish I'd known. I wish I had understood what was going. I wish I could have properly experienced the grief, not for the sake of being sad, but for the sake of being able o emphasize more with those that lost someone on September 11h, 2001.

There should be a law against baptism by fire....at least as far as public speaking goes.
I absolutely HATE being thrown into public speaking situations when I have no idea what I'm getting myself into. That happened exactly today in debate. I spent a week on my affirmative case and had three arguments, and Jay, our debate team captain, kicked my butt. He spent 20 minutes during first period on his negative case and had one argument.

2nd period makes me mentally exhausted...

Journal Entry 9/4/09

So, today I have been trying to work plans out to hang with The Saad. It's not going so well. We both have WAYYYY too many schedule conflicts and it's putting me in a very blah mood. I'm supposed to go see The Time Traveler's Wife with him, but I'm a little concerned about whether that is going to work out. He has to go break his fast at a certain time and I have dinner at a certain time. He has a doctor's appointment at a certain time, and I have to be home at a certain time.

Too much certainty on time restrictions equals too much incertainty the actual time to fun ratio.

Journal Entry 9/2/09

Thank you, my awesome sister, Amanda :)

Many of my beliefs and many of the great truths of the world I know, I know because of you. You have taught me tolerance and love. You are the greatest sister a sister could have. You have always given me the right information to shape my beliefs without pushing your own (though we tend to agree!). Because of you I know three important things: I love gay people, I must always investigate something for myself, and I must always stick to what I believe.

I love you for all that you have done. We need another "Asian Food And Depressing Movies" day :)))))
